Tools & Methods
We are huge advocates of using tools and methods that make your life easier and work best for your dog. We train with a balanced philosophy, which basically means we reward dogs when they’re doing great things and correct them when their behaviors are undesirable. It’s not quite that simple, but it’s not all that complicated, either. Dog training isn’t rocket science, and we do our best to make the process as straightforward for you as possible.
All dogs in our Accelerated Obedience Program will be trained on a prong collar and a leash, because we’ve seen clients get great results with them over and over. The exception is puppies under 5 months old, who we generally train with a slip lead.
We also love e-collars and recommend them for every dog. Used properly, they build reliability, communication, and off-leash freedom that’s hard to get any other way. We offer a full Off-Leash Foundations Program if you’re ready to take your dog’s obedience to the next level. Once you’ve experienced off-leash freedom with your dog, you’ll never want to go back.
